This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
• Spearhead the development and revision of the Apprenticeship Program Curriculum through needs assessments, curriculum design, the creation of instructional materials, assessments/evaluations, program updates, and optimization of delivery methods.
• Oversee the delivery and presentation of the Apprenticeship Program, utilizing public speaking, effective logistics/scheduling, collaboration, reliability, continuous improvement, supporting KPIs, and ensuring alignment with MEI’s core values of safety, integrity, and excellence.
• Drive organizational training projects by managing training initiatives that fulfill company-wide requirements and monitoring their effectiveness, making necessary adjustments as needed.
• Facilitate skill development initiatives for employees at all levels, including the evaluation of candidates’ qualifications and their commitment to participating in programs like Entry-Level Driver Training.
• Collaborate with the Director of Training and Development, Talent Development Managers, Training Specialists, Regional Office Training Instructors, and other leaders within the organization to design and implement effective training solutions.
• Conduct gap analyses by performing skill and knowledge assessments to identify areas for development and align employees with suitable training pathways.
• Develop and deliver training materials by acquiring or creating resources and presentations, including technical content, and facilitating training sessions for individuals or groups across various locations.
• Maintain a centralized training records system for the organization, ensuring compliance with audit and regulatory standards.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of training by monitoring and reporting on participant progress, milestones, and successes, while assessing the overall program's effectiveness in achieving organizational goals.
• Stay updated as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) by attending industry trade shows, seminars, and continuing education opportunities relevant to the organization’s operations.
• Assist in recruitment efforts by evaluating and interviewing potential hires to determine their suitability for success in training programs and alignment with organizational needs.
• This position reports to the Director of Training and Development and will involve travel to regional offices, with expectations of up to 50% travel.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A higher degree (Bachelor) in Education, Training, Human Resources, Industrial Education, or a related field is advantageous.
• A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in an advanced level Rigger, Machinery Mover, Construction Rigger, or a similar role is required.
• Knowledge or experience with DOT regulations and CDL training programs and requirements is essential.
• Experience in managing training programs and curriculums, encompassing both short-duration and long-duration learning. Maintain current and relevant materials, topics, and records for training.
• Proficiency in MS Office, including PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel, along with familiarity with a Windows-based operating system.
• Strong organizational and planning skills; must possess adaptability and flexibility, along with a customer-focused mindset.
• Ability to articulate complex or technical information and concepts to all staff levels and to interpret and explain information meaningfully to others.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; comfortable with delivering in-person instruction to groups or crowds of varying sizes.
• A solid understanding of the English language, including word meanings and spelling. Must maintain accurate and legible records in English.
• Demonstrate active listening and critical thinking skills. Interact with others in a professional and positive manner; capable of following direction and being receptive to constructive feedback.
• Must be self-directed and self-motivated; able to manage one’s own time efficiently and encourage this behavior in others.
• Ability to analyze information, make informed decisions, solve problems, and positively influence others.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license, be insurable, and be willing and able to travel locally between regional offices frequently.
