Senior Test Engineer, Data Quality

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Engage in the creation, upkeep, and stewardship of quality assurance procedures, work instructions, and testing processes associated with data pipeline projects.

• Aid in monitoring, documenting, and reporting quality metrics pertinent to software and data pipeline development initiatives.

• Work collaboratively with engineering and product teams to facilitate the delivery of high-quality, defect-free solutions.

• Take part in root cause and causal analysis activities for defects and nonconformities, pinpointing corrective and preventive measures.

• Develop and sustain procedures for capturing, investigating, documenting, and resolving product issues and customer complaints.

• Oversee risk management processes and maintain logs of issues and defects for reporting and trend analysis.

• Provide support for CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) initiatives related to component and process quality.

• Analyze, implement, and ensure adherence to company quality assurance standards and best practices.

• Keep precise documentation and records for quality assurance activities, audits, defects, and remediation efforts.

• Recognize opportunities for process enhancement and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

• Assist in defining and refining testing standards, methodologies, and protocols across products and services.

• Actively participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and QA activities throughout the software development lifecycle.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience as a QA Engineer, QA Tester, or in a similar manual testing capacity.

• Proven experience in testing data-intensive applications, ETL pipelines, or API-driven integrations.

• Comprehensive understanding of software testing methodologies and QA best practices (functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, UAT).

• Experience in designing and executing test plans, test cases, and test suites based on requirements and technical specifications.

• Solid background in defect tracking and test management tools (Jira, TestRail, or similar).

• Proficient in SQL for data validation and query-based verification of application behavior.

• Capability to conduct data integrity testing across integrations and processing workflows.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a systematic approach to root cause analysis.

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

• Excellent communication skills; able to clearly document and convey defects, test results, and quality findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Strong organizational and time management abilities with the capacity to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership regarding quality outcomes.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

• Upper-Intermediate level of English proficiency.
