• Proactively identify, troubleshoot, document, and resolve issues related to private cloud deployments utilizing OpenStack, Kubernetes, and additional cloud technologies.
• Reproduce customer issues within a lab environment, validate bug reports, and furnish comprehensive information to the development team.
• Collaborate closely with development teams to discuss customer concerns, propose enhancements, and address product bugs.
• Provide engineering assistance for escalations related to product issues.
• Assume responsibility for critical customer issues that have been escalated and engage in troubleshooting sessions as necessary.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Over 5 years of experience in systems or operations engineering.
• Advanced skills in Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
• Proficient in system performance profiling (e.g., CPU, memory, disk speed, etc.).
• In-depth knowledge of highly available cloud-based infrastructure.
• Capability to identify, document, and effectively communicate software defects to various stakeholders (management, tenants, developers, etc.).
• Expert understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes operations and proficiency in troubleshooting Kubernetes environments.
• Experience with shell scripting and automation techniques.
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies (libvirt, KVM, VMWare).
• Understanding of distributed storage solutions.
• Ability to read and interpret Python code and logs.
• Nice to have: Knowledge of OpenStack and Ceph.
• Experience in debugging Python applications.
• Experience with databases and message brokers (e.g., MySQL, Galera, PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, Cassandra, etc.).
• Proficient in using monitoring and log aggregation tools for troubleshooting (e.g., Grafana, Kibana, Nagios, Prometheus, etc.).
• Experience in recommending monitoring software and configuring, customizing, and extending these tools.
• Familiarity with configuration management tools (Puppet, Chef, Salt, Ansible, Helm).
• Solid understanding of CI/CD workflows (e.g., git, Jenkins, JFrog, Artifactory, etc.).
• Work with an established leader in the cloud infrastructure sector based in Silicon Valley;
