Senior Technical Program Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the complete delivery process for Base Platform programs, which include identity, provisioning, and the overall operational health of the platform.

• Collaborate with Product Management and GTM stakeholders on platform modifications that affect customers, ensuring that rollouts, communications, and external commitments align with engineering delivery timelines.

• Lead multi-team migrations and platform adjustments where downstream consumers, external commitments, and legacy constraints must be executed in the correct sequence. In this role, missing a dependency can lead to significant delays.

• Manage the operational foundation of the group: mapping dependencies, identifying risks, maintaining decision logs, communicating changes, and facilitating the rituals that uphold the integrity of large engineering projects.

• Develop effective processes for seamless handoffs between Base Platform and the teams that utilize it, ensuring that platform modifications are never unexpected.

• Implement strict measures to evaluate delivery health and leverage this data to drive improvements instead of merely generating reports.

⛳️ Requirements

• You have led complex, cross-functional technical programs and can highlight instances where you influenced the technical decisions rather than just tracking them.

• You are able to engage in deep engineering discussions. While you do not need to code, you must grasp the key arguments and understand their significance.

• You excel at structuring ambiguity without complicating matters. Your approach is to use the simplest mechanism that effectively addresses the issue.

• You possess experience in platform, infrastructure, identity, or API-related fields where the consumers of your work are other engineering teams.

• You have overseen migrations or sunsetting processes that had real downstream effects and know how to execute them without jeopardizing trust.

• You communicate succinctly. Your writing consists of brief sentences, clear requests, and avoids unnecessary filler. You document decisions and ensure they reach the appropriate audience.

• You are proficient with Jira, Confluence, and other modern engineering tools, and you have strong opinions about their optimal usage.
