📋 Description

• Investigate, diagnose, and resolve issues within existing gameplay systems, such as combat, progression, abilities, content setup, and moment-to-moment gameplay.

• Enhance the reliability, stability, and maintainability of complex, interconnected systems.

• Assist in bug fixing, tuning, debugging, and iteration on current gameplay content.

• Design, implement, and refine gameplay systems and features that contribute to player experience and sustained engagement.

• Collaborate closely with engineering and design teams to align design intent with technical implementation.

• Prototype gameplay features directly in the engine utilizing scripting, visual scripting, or available design tools.

• Develop clear technical design documentation, specifications, logic flows, bug notes, and implementation details.

• Recognize technical risks and constraints early on, assisting in the formulation of practical, high-quality solutions.

• Collaborate with production to appropriately scope work and manage risks related to quality, timelines, and maintainability.

• Utilize feedback, bugs, and live data to enhance systems over time.

• Elevate the quality of technical design through ownership, problem-solving, and collaborative efforts.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in technical design, systems design, game design, or a closely related role in shipped games.

• Strong comprehension of top-down action RPGs, encompassing systems, itemization, progression, abilities, combat flow, and underlying architecture.

• Practical experience in debugging, tuning, and refining existing gameplay systems.

• Experience in implementing gameplay features directly in the engine using scripting, visual scripting, or similar tools.

• Deep understanding of gameplay systems design, including progression, combat, balance, and player-facing mechanics.

• Capability to communicate effectively through documentation, implementation notes, bug reports, and collaborative efforts across functions.

• Experience working closely with engineers to develop, enhance, and launch gameplay systems.

• Strong skills in debugging, problem-solving, and iterative processes.

• Familiarity with Unreal, Unity, or comparable game engines.

• Ability to independently manage features or areas of work from start to finish with minimal guidance.
