This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Create, implement, and enhance assets such as textures, shaders, and models.
• Design, construct, and refine pipelines and workflows utilized by our teams to enhance and support production efficiency.
• Develop bespoke tools, automation systems, and editor extensions within Unreal Engine and DCC applications like Maya and Houdini.
• Serve as the technical liaison among Art, Engineering, Design, and Production teams.
• Assess new technologies, workflows, and Unreal Engine functionalities to align with project objectives.
• Assist artists with technical execution, troubleshooting, and performance enhancement.
• Collaborate with rendering and gameplay engineers to create and enhance visual features and workflows.
• Ensure that art content is optimized for multiplayer experiences across designated platforms.
• Analyze and address performance issues related to rendering, memory usage, streaming, shaders, and content budgets.
• Over 5 years of professional experience as a Technical Artist in the gaming industry.
• Proficiency in programming languages, ideally HLSL/C++/Python or similar.
• Experience in developing and maintaining character art pipelines, shaders, rigs, or associated character workflows.
• Proven track record of contributing to at least one AAA or high-quality AA title on PC and/or console platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to work with a high level of self-motivation and initiative.
• Familiarity with custom tools and pipeline solutions for Unreal Engine, Maya, Houdini, or other DCC applications.
• Deep understanding of Physically Based Rendering (PBR), shader creation, and contemporary real-time rendering techniques.
• Advanced knowledge of Unreal Engine 5, including Blueprints, Materials, Niagara, asset management, and performance optimization workflows.
• Strong comprehension of performance profiling and optimization strategies for game engines.
• 6.5 weeks of paid vacation.
