Senior Technical Animator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Oversee the production and software pipeline while adhering to deadlines.

• Develop high-quality rigging and skinning for characters, creatures, and props that are technically appropriate for the desired project universe.

• Independently implement characters in Unreal Engine, including setups for cloth, physics, and blueprints.

• Collaborate closely with modelers and animators to ensure a seamless development pipeline that produces high-quality assets.

• Contribute to the development of pipeline tools and work alongside engine and project leads to enhance these tools continuously.

• Capable of delivering clean and optimized assets or code within established systems and guidelines.

• Independently work on pipeline tools while collaborating with engine and project leads, proposing improvements to these tools and advancing research and development case studies.

• Occasionally assist the Lead with recruitment initiatives in collaboration with HR.

• Occasionally aid in the onboarding process for new hires.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in technical animation, tool development, and pipeline processes.

• Proven experience in developing at least one AAA title.

• Strong mentoring abilities.

• Deep understanding of departmental dependencies and collaboration needs throughout the project.

• Extensive experience with Maya, particularly in rigging and skinning.

• Strong grasp of anatomy and character movement, with a keen eye for physical deformation.

• Knowledge of facial rigging for games, television, or film.

• Expertise in physics simulations for cloth, hair, and other physical elements.

• Exceptional communication skills, able to provide clear technical feedback on tasks, rigs, toolsets, and documentation.

• Proficient programming skills, including the ability to write Python code.

• Familiarity with Unreal Engine art production pipelines, particularly character and animation-related features.

• Self-motivated.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
