Senior Tax Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.

📋 Description

• Oversee and evaluate both indirect and direct tax compliance activities, which include recurring VAT, CIT, and other tax reporting for EMEA entities.

• Prepare and review tax provision calculations in accordance with US GAAP, encompassing individual entity tax provisions, ASC450, and FIN48 calculations, while also assisting with local accounting closure.

• Lead initiatives for process innovation in EMEA tax compliance operations, collaborating closely with other members of the global tax team and the wider finance organization to implement globally standardized solutions and enhance operational efficiencies, including insourcing where applicable.

• Work in conjunction with the broader Unity tax team on various tax-related projects such as Pillar Two, R&D incentives, e-invoicing, and efforts to rationalize legal entities within the region.

• Provide strategic assistance during EMEA tax audits, resolve disputes, and manage other controversies.


⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Tax, or a similar field; Chartered Accountant, Chartered Financial Analyst, or Tax Advisor qualification is preferred.

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in indirect and direct tax within a Big 4 firm and/or a multinational corporation, with at least 2 years in a people management role.

• Proven extensive knowledge of EMEA VAT and CIT regulations, tax accounting (both US GAAP and local), experience in preparing or reviewing US GAAP tax provisions and deferred tax positions, along with a background in tax controversy and audit defense in multiple EMEA jurisdictions.

• Demonstrated capability to identify and execute process enhancements; direct experience with insourcing initiatives is highly advantageous.

• Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating complex tax technical concepts to an audience unfamiliar with tax terminology.
