This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Prepare and initiate the review of intricate federal and state tax returns for individuals and closely held businesses, including Forms 1040, 1120, 1120S, and 1065.
• Provide support for tax engagements from the planning phase through to completion, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and effective communication with clients.
• Assist in proactive tax planning and advisory services, which encompass tax projections and scenario-based planning.
• Start to take ownership of client relationships, acting as a direct point of contact under the supervision of a manager.
• Contribute to quality control by reviewing the work completed by staff-level accountants.
• Primarily utilize CCH Axcess (tax) and CCH Engagement (accounting), with Lacerte functioning in the background.
• 3–6 years of specialized tax experience in public accounting.
• Substantial experience in a boutique or small-to-mid-sized firm setting.
• Practical exposure to Forms 1040, 1120, 1120S, and 1065.
• Currently engaged in preparing complex returns and beginning to assume review responsibilities.
• Commencing management of client accounts and relationships directly.
• CPA or EA license is preferred.
• Capability to work independently and take initiative.
• Excellent communication skills with a growing confidence in direct client interactions.
• Availability to work from 9–5 Central Time.
