This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
• Oversee internal and supplier containment actions alongside Operations and Quality.
• Organize supplier kick-off meetings and implement swift response initiatives.
• Perform Root Cause and Corrective Action investigations for significant quality or delivery challenges.
• Create, execute, and assess supplier improvement strategies.
• Track KPIs and assess criteria for containment exit.
• Elevate ongoing issues to crisis mode or involve tiger teams.
• Collaborate with Commodity Teams and SBUs to ensure closed-loop feedback and sustainable operations.
• Identify supplier locations and prioritize development efforts based on risk, impact, and commodity demands.
• Execute supplier evaluations utilizing the OCRA tool.
• Involve suppliers through development roadmaps, training sessions, and focused maturity-model actions.
• Synchronize supplier readiness with Commodity Managers and Engineering for new initiatives and volume increases.
• Lead improvement strategies, KPI monitoring, and gate reviews.
• Observe supplier maturity and initiate sustainment strategies.
• Develop tools for manufacturing process technology and standardization, including FMEA and Control Plans.
• Offer leadership and assistance during supplier transitions.
• Assess supplier maturity post-transitions and promote continuous enhancement.
• Implement APQP for new product introductions and manage transition projects.
• Partner with Commodity Managers, Quality Assurance, Engineering, Operations and Planning, SBUs, supplier leadership, and crisis response teams.
• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related discipline with at least 5 years of experience.
• Willingness to travel to supplier locations as necessary, at least 50% of the time.
• Solid knowledge and comprehension of castings and/or forgings and their manufacturing processes.
• Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across Collins Aerospace business units.
• Capability to apply CORE principles and tools for ongoing improvement and best practice benchmarking.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Access.
• U.S. citizenship is mandatory; only U.S. citizens are permitted to access information under the program/contract.
