Senior Staff Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and sustain robust application software utilizing PHP (core and frameworks) and TypeScript, emphasizing scalability and long-term maintainability.

• Design and implement full-stack solutions, effectively merging server-side logic with frontend interfaces.

• Oversee troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of backend systems, efficiently identifying and resolving complex issues.

• Develop, construct, and integrate RESTful APIs that cater to both internal and external consumers.

• Architect and manage both relational and non-relational data storage solutions, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and data integrity.

• Perform thorough code reviews and spearhead continuous improvements to codebases for enhanced performance and maintainability.

• Set and uphold engineering best practices, coding standards, and documentation guidelines across the team.

• Work closely with product managers, designers, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality full-stack web applications.

• Guide and mentor junior and mid-level engineers, promoting a culture of technical excellence and ongoing learning.

• Participate in architectural decision-making and contribute to technology roadmap planning.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of professional experience in building production-grade applications, with a strong focus on backend expertise (PHP experience is highly valued).

• In-depth knowledge of one or more PHP frameworks: Laravel, Yii, or Symfony.

• Strong skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with practical experience in React.

• Proven capability to design and manage relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and non-relational (MongoDB, Redis) databases, including schema design and query optimization.

• Extensive experience in API design and integration (REST).

• Expert-level understanding of OOP principles, design patterns, and web architectural patterns (MVC, microservices, event-driven).

• Demonstrated history of leading technical initiatives and delivering complex projects on a large scale.

• Proven ability to mentor engineers and elevate technical standards across the team.

• Strong communication skills, capable of translating complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
