Senior Staff Machine Learning Engineer, Post Training

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with extensive structured and unstructured data; investigate, experiment, build, and continually enhance foundational models for Airbnb's product, business, and operational applications.

• Develop a multi-year technology roadmap that empowers our team to remain at the forefront of the swiftly changing AI landscape and utilize top-tier technologies to provide customer advantages.

• Regularly assess new and forthcoming large foundational models, ensuring the selection and refinement of the highest quality models for improved performance and efficiency.

• Actively prototype, develop, and deploy LLM models and pipelines at scale, accommodating both batch and real-time scenarios.

• Influence critical AI architectural choices for products and contribute to the architecture and strategy of Airbnb’s ML platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical discipline.

• Over 10 years of experience in developing machine learning models and products at scale from conception to business impact.

• Proficiency in Python programming and practical experience with frameworks like PyTorch.

• Demonstrated success in training, fine-tuning, optimizing models, and managing inference run-time.

• Post-training expertise in areas such as data processing for fine-tuning; responsible LLMs; LLM alignment; reinforcement learning; efficient training and inference; language model evaluation; and/or multilingual and multimodal modeling.

• Alternatively, specialized experience in runtime optimizations, model quantization, compression, on-device inference, GPU inference, PyTorch, and kernel development.
