Senior Staff Engineer – Systems, Applications Design

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Hampshire.

📋 Description

• Diagnosing and resolving technical issues faced by customers related to networking (mainly in Switching and Network Security), storage, and server software, with an emphasis on SONiC-related challenges.

• Collaborating with customers to comprehend their network topology and offering recommendations, answering inquiries, reviewing configurations, and troubleshooting problems.

• Involved in pre-sales initiatives by supporting Celestica’s Sales Engineers and Business Development teams.

• Participating in a rotational schedule that includes weekends, holidays, and off-business hours to align with North America and Europe work schedules.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency with the SONiC network operating system and the FRR stack is essential.

• Experience in designing, configuring, troubleshooting, and optimizing network hardware, topologies, and deployments (DC/Enterprise/Campus) is necessary.

• Strong grasp of networking concepts, architecture, topology (Places-In-Network), and network protocols such as BGP, OSPF, ISIS, VXLAN, EVPN, IGMP, DHCP, BFD, VRF, Authentication (RADIUS/TACACS), Network Management protocols, NAT, Multicast, QoS (RoCE/DSCP), ACL, ZTP, Telemetry, and Monitoring/Analytics is required.

• Profound knowledge of Switching/Network Security/Routing hardware architecture is mandatory.

• Competence in Linux is required.

• Familiarity with C and scripting languages like Python/Go is highly advantageous.

• Direct customer interaction experience is essential.

• Experience in creating technical documentation (e.g., Application Notes, FAQs, Installation Guides, User Manuals, Troubleshooting Guides) is necessary.

• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time (both domestically and internationally) is required.

• Availability to work on a rotational basis during weekends, holidays, and off-business hours to coincide with North America and Europe working hours is necessary.
