Senior Staff Engineer, Product Software

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +10 more states.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and sustain a cutting-edge platform for high-performance networking and computing.

• Collaborate closely with Product Management and internal teams to ensure a strong product-market fit and strategic direction.

• Promote a productive build-and-run culture, merging operations and development to continuously enhance customer outcomes.

• Facilitate discussions across stakeholders to ensure agreement on compute platform requirements and design considerations, while evaluating performance, scalability, and reliability.

• Bring enthusiasm, dedication, peer mentorship, and a positive outlook to the team.

• Exemplify excellent engineering practices by writing efficient and secure code, conducting constructive peer reviews, and maintaining high standards.


⛳️ Requirements

• Strong grasp of Network Function Virtualization (NFV), networking protocols, DPDK, and/or VPP.

• Recent, hands-on experience with Golang (Go) and Python, along with API development.

• Significant experience in building and managing highly reliable distributed systems.

• Committed to implementing CI/CD for any code deployed beyond personal development environments.

• Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities to troubleshoot and resolve issues in distributed systems.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills to effectively present findings, recommendations, and technical information to diverse stakeholders.

• A continuous learning attitude and a desire to stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends.

• Experience working in a globally distributed team environment.

• Proficiency in Linux concepts including PCI devices, kernel capabilities, and QEMU virtualization.

• Strong understanding of building and managing containerization technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, CSI, and CNI.
