Senior Staff Desktop Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Define and take ownership of the technical strategy and standards for Windows and macOS endpoints.

• Create scalable, secure, and maintainable endpoint architectures utilizing modern management platforms.

• Lead and oversee intricate endpoint projects from the planning phase through to execution.

• Collaborate with Security, Infrastructure, Manufacturing IT, and R&D teams to ensure endpoint solutions adhere to compliance, validation, and audit standards.

• Serve as the senior technical escalation point for complex endpoint challenges.

• Establish and uphold endpoint standards, best practices, and lifecycle processes to promote consistency.

• Develop and implement systems policies, procedures, and standards to guarantee optimal performance and security.

• Mentor and guide senior engineers through technical advice, design evaluations, and alignment with best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Generally requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.

• A minimum of 13+ years of related experience, or a Master’s degree with 8+ years of equivalent industry experience, or a PhD with 5+ years of experience.

• Strong hands-on endpoint engineer with extensive knowledge of Windows and macOS endpoint platforms.

• Advanced scripting and automation skills, demonstrating expertise in PowerShell, Python, and Bash.

• Significant experience in designing and managing endpoint management solutions using tools such as Intune, MECM, and Jamf.

• Proficient in endpoint security, hardening, and configuration management.

• Excellent troubleshooting abilities and capacity to translate root cause analysis into sustainable engineering solutions.

• Capability to influence without authority and mentor fellow engineers through design evaluations and best-practice advice.
