Senior Specialist, Legal Editor – Practical Law Commercial

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.

📋 Description

• Conduct research and create clear, up-to-date, and practical legal content that aligns with market practices, customer needs, and business goals.

• Review and refine content produced by team members and external experts to ensure precision, clarity, and coherence.

• Keep abreast of legal, practice, and market trends to maintain content accuracy, relevance, and alignment with business objectives.

• Leverage your legal expertise to aid in the development of customer-centric, AI-driven legal solutions at Thomson Reuters.

• Utilize your legal and editorial capabilities to support the creation and use of internal AI editorial tools.

• Build and sustain a robust understanding of the legal market, our customers, their evolving requirements, and competitor offerings.

• Engage effectively with clients, consultation boards, and contributors; collaborate across the organization to provide insights into strategy, product development, sales, marketing, and technology.

• Attend training sessions, conferences, and industry events; network with clients, potential clients, and industry leaders.

• Contribute to the enhancement of Practical Law France and, more broadly, Practical Law.

• Utilize your specialized legal knowledge to assist various teams at Thomson Reuters, collaborating with product management, sales, marketing, and technology as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• French-qualified lawyer (Avocat) with exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.

• At least 5 years of post-qualification experience as a commercial lawyer (Avocat) in a law firm or in-house in France.

• Significant experience in French commercial law and practical commercial advisory work.

• Outstanding writing abilities in English, with a passion for delivering accurate, concise legal guidance in clear language.

• Collaborative mindset, capable of working effectively both independently and as a part of a team.

• Strong technical proficiency and the ability to effectively utilize a variety of tools, including generative AI technologies, to enhance productivity and accuracy.

• Flexibility and adaptability to work on a wide range of projects within the generative AI sector and with emerging technologies.

• A curious perspective on the evolving intersection of AI and legal practice; adaptable and open to change.

• Practical experience in utilizing AI tools within legal work.

• Excellent command of online legal research databases.

• Comfortable navigating ambiguity in a matrixed environment, with a demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and collaborate with diverse teams.
