Senior Solutions Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Italy.

📋 Description

• Oversee technical discovery, demonstrations, and validation to demonstrate how GitLab's AI-driven DevSecOps platform fulfills customers' technical and business requirements throughout the entire lifecycle.

• Lead the technical evaluation process as the primary accountable individual, encompassing solution design, POC/POV ownership, workshop development, and the technical aspects of tenders, audits, and value stream analyses.

• Collaborate with Account Executives and regional sales teams across Italy to formulate and implement account strategies that facilitate new customer acquisition and growth.

• Establish and strengthen relationships with technical practitioners and business leaders, guiding them through GitLab-led transformations and empowering them to become advocates for GitLab.

• Provide guidance to customers on modern software development, continuous integration, continuous deployment, security, and cloud practices, challenging current methods to enhance return on investment.

• Act as the customer’s voice within Product Management, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing by relaying feedback, use cases, and competitive insights that shape the product roadmap and positioning.

• Sustain and enhance your technical expertise in GitLab, DevSecOps, AI, and related cloud technologies by creating reusable examples, best practice guidelines, and technical materials for customers and partners.

• Commit to personal growth and development through continuous learning, mentorship, and knowledge sharing to enhance the overall impact of the Solutions Architect team.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of experience interacting with customers in technical pre-sales, consulting, or similar positions, guiding them through solution design and assessments.

• Expertise in the complete software development lifecycle, including modern DevSecOps methodologies and continuous integration and deployment processes.

• Practical experience with GitLab or similar source control, CI/CD, and collaboration tools, along with the ability to align platform capabilities with customer scenarios.

• Solid understanding of cloud computing concepts and related technologies, with the capability to discuss deployment, security, and operational options with technical teams.

• Competence in leading technical evaluations such as proofs of concept or value, contributing to tenders or audits, and designing and conducting workshops or value stream assessments.

• Strong technical communication and presentation abilities, with the skill to tailor messages for practitioners as well as senior business and technical decision-makers.

• Ability to cultivate trusted relationships, listen with empathy, and serve as a customer advocate to internal teams like Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing.

• Drive for continuous professional development, including learning new technologies, enhancing expertise in the GitLab platform, and applying transferable skills from related fields.
