Senior Software Engineer, React

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of feature development.

• Assume full ownership of features from start to finish — encompassing technical design through to delivery. This involves creating the internal tools that enable teams to develop, configure, and issue promotions; manage relationships with affiliate partners; and monitor program performance and payouts — not just the user-facing elements, but also the platforms that our internal teams rely on daily.

• Write high-quality code.

• Generate TypeScript and React code that is clean, efficient, well-tested, and elevates the standards of the codebase. Internal tools play a crucial operational role — quality in this area directly impacts the teams that depend on them.

• Integrate with third-party platforms.

• Develop and sustain integrations with platforms such as Braze and Appsflyer. Coordinate the creation, targeting, and delivery of promotions to users. Comprehend the data agreements between internal systems and external platforms, and build accordingly.

• Construct the affiliate partner platform.

• Engage in the design and development of systems that organize our partner program — including onboarding, performance tracking, attribution, and payout workflows. You are adept at reasoning through complex data relationships and the operational processes that encompass them.

• Contribute to architectural decisions.

• Participate in team-level architectural discussions regarding internal application patterns, data modeling, API design, and strategies for third-party integration.

• Enhance quality proactively.

• Spot opportunities to boost reliability, data accuracy, UI performance, and developer experience in our internal tools — and take action on them.

• Mentor junior engineers.

• Offer technical support to Software Engineers I and II through comprehensive code reviews, collaborative coding sessions, and design feedback.

• Collaborate across functions.

• Work closely with Product, Marketing, and Partnerships to grasp operational workflows and translate them into well-designed tools. You are comfortable engaging with non-technical stakeholders to transform ambiguous requirements into a clear build plan.

• Participate in on-call rotation.

• Gradually take on more responsibility for incident response, contributing to root cause analysis and systemic enhancements — including issues related to promotion issuance, payout processing, or integration failures.

• Build team knowledge.

• Document technical decisions, data models, and integration patterns to enhance your team's collective understanding.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience, with significant time spent developing React web applications — ideally including internal tools, admin platforms, or operational dashboards.

• Proven track record of delivering complex features within a software team to achieve business objectives.

• Experience in breaking down vague operational requirements into clear technical plans.

• Familiarity with integrating third-party platforms and managing data contracts between systems.

• Knowledge of React Native is advantageous — occasional contributions to mobile promotional surfaces may be necessary.

• Advanced proficiency in TypeScript — capable of producing clean, type-safe, production-quality code.

• Strong experience with React — deep comprehension of component lifecycle, hooks, performance optimization, and patterns for data-intensive, form-heavy internal applications.

• Experience with RTK Query, React Query, or similar data-fetching and caching layers for complex admin UIs.

• Experience with building and consuming REST or GraphQL APIs; comfort in reasoning about backend data models even if your primary focus is frontend development.

• Familiarity with Braze or similar CRM/messaging platforms — understanding how promotions, segments, and campaigns are structured and delivered.

• Experience with state management solutions suited to intricate, multi-step workflows (form state, async data, optimistic updates).

• Solid testing practices — unit and component testing with Jest; familiarity with Playwright, Cypress, or similar E2E frameworks.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerized local development environments, and web deployment workflows.

• Working knowledge of React Native — enough to contribute to mobile-facing promotional surfaces when necessary.

• Autonomous — able to tackle ambiguous operational problems and drive them to a well-defined technical solution.

• Comfortable working directly with internal stakeholders to validate requirements and highlight trade-offs.

• Strong written communication skills, especially important in a fully remote setting.

• Capable of balancing deep technical work with collaborative design and planning.
