Senior Software Engineer – Quality, Test & CI Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.

📋 Description

• Evaluate the existing state of test coverage and CI pipelines across OpenCTI, OpenAEV, and OpenGRC — identify significant gaps and establish a prioritized roadmap to address them.

• Create and execute a comprehensive cross-product testing strategy, including unit, integration, end-to-end, and contract testing — tailored to each layer of the technology stack (GraphQL API, TypeScript/React frontend, Node.js/Java backend, Python connectors).

• Spearhead the unification and standardization of CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, integrating quality gates (coverage thresholds, mutation testing, flakiness detection, static analysis) as essential pipeline components.

• Develop shared testing tools, templates, and libraries that product teams can easily adopt — minimizing the effort required to write effective tests.

• Establish and uphold performance and load testing methodologies where none currently exist, setting baselines and regression detection for crucial system workflows.

• Set and maintain standards for test reliability and pipeline efficiency — addressing flaky tests and slow pipelines as areas of engineering debt that you will actively manage.

• Collaborate closely with product engineering teams to integrate quality practices into their daily processes, offering guidance, conducting code reviews, and engaging in hands-on pairing as necessary.

• Keep abreast of developments in testing, CI/CD, and AI-driven engineering — assessing new tools, LLM-based test generation strategies, and autonomous testing frameworks, and presenting well-considered proposals to the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7–12 years of experience in software engineering, with a pronounced emphasis on quality engineering and CI/CD.

• Extensive knowledge of test strategy and architecture: you know when to implement a unit test, integration test, or E2E test — and can clearly articulate the trade-offs.

• Practical experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines at scale — you have created pipelines that are not only functional but also fast, reliable, and developer-friendly.

• Proficient across a diverse technology stack: TypeScript/React on the frontend, Node.js or Java on the backend, Python for integrations — you don’t need to be an expert in all, but can navigate each and apply the appropriate testing methodologies.

• Familiarity with contemporary testing tools: Playwright, Vitest, Jest, Cypress, or similar; mutation testing frameworks (e.g., Stryker); contract testing (e.g., Pact); static analysis and linting pipelines.

• Strong grasp of software quality metrics — coverage, mutation score, flakiness rates, pipeline duration — and the ability to leverage them to drive meaningful improvements instead of merely gaming the numbers.

• Exceptional written communication skills — you can translate a quality audit into a clear, prioritized action plan that engineers and leadership can implement.

• Comfortable working in a remote-first, asynchronous environment with teams across various time zones; clear communicator in English.

• Autonomy and a sense of ownership: you identify issues, propose solutions, and see them through to completion — enabling others rather than becoming a bottleneck.

• Bonus: experience with performance/load testing tools (k6, Gatling, Locust, or equivalents); hands-on experience with AI-assisted test generation tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, LLM-based test scaffolding); contributions to open-source projects or maintainership; experience implementing quality standards across large engineering teams; knowledge of the cybersecurity domain.
