This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Design and develop REST/OpenAPI backend APIs for the provisioning and management of GKE namespaces and clusters.
• Create platform automation using custom Kubernetes controllers/operators in Go, alongside backend microservices in Java/Spring Boot or Node.js.
• Integrate APIs with Red Hat Developer Hub/Backstage software templates, scaffolding actions, and backend plugins.
• Publish and secure APIs through an API gateway, such as Apigee, utilizing SSO, OAuth2, and JWT validation.
• Assist application teams in onboarding and migrating workloads to the GKE platform.
• Identify challenges faced by developers and enhance a seamless self-service platform experience.
• Develop and maintain Kubernetes deployment artifacts and Helm charts.
• Contribute to GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines, as well as container image publishing and artifact management.
• Instrument services and create Dynatrace dashboards and alerts.
• Collaborate with Cloud Service Mesh/Istio for mTLS, traffic management, and robust inter-service communication.
• Participate in the platform on-call rotation, handling production support, incident response, root-cause analysis, and remediation.
• Expose platform APIs as MCP servers and integrate them with Gemini Enterprise for AI-assisted developer workflows.
• Work closely with platform, security, and application teams; document solutions and provide mentorship where necessary.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification.
• 8–10 years of overall professional experience.
• 4–6 years of pertinent experience in backend development, APIs, Kubernetes, GitOps, and AWS or GCP.
• Strong practical software development experience in Java/Spring Boot, Node.js, or Go.
• Proven experience in building production microservices and secure REST APIs.
• Familiarity with Spring Boot/Spring Cloud or comparable Node.js/Go frameworks.
• Experience with OpenAPI/Swagger, API integration, API gateways, OAuth2, JWT tokens, and SSO.
• Competence in authoring Kubernetes manifests and deploying microservices to managed GKE/EKS clusters.
• Proficiency with Docker and Helm.
• Experience in automating platform or infrastructure workflows using custom controllers/operators or backend services.
• Knowledge of Argo CD GitOps, Jenkins or GitHub Actions, container image build/push, and artifact repositories.
• Experience in onboarding or supporting application teams on a shared platform.
• Familiarity with Dynatrace or similar observability tools, production support, and on-call incident management.
• Working knowledge of GCP and/or AWS, including IAM, service accounts, and Workload Identity.
• Agile delivery mindset, taking ownership from design to production support, with a focus on collaboration and effective communication.
• Eagerness to learn or prior experience with Go/Kubebuilder/controller-runtime, TypeScript/Node.js, Backstage, service mesh, GKE networking, agentic AI/MCP, and AI-assisted development tools.
