This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.
• Develop and manage an observability platform that captures customer events, logs, and traces utilizing OpenTelemetry and industry-leading practices.
• Provide dashboarding and visualization features for immediate insight into system health, emerging challenges, and trends.
• Design and execute telemetry-driven notification and alert systems employing heuristics, AI agents, and lakehouse intelligence.
• Write infrastructure-as-code using Helm and Terraform to streamline deployment and operations.
• Create and sustain application frameworks that manage dependency injection and role-based access control on a large scale.
• Collaborate with SRE and DevOps teams to establish best practices and standardized engineering workflows.
• Interact with the developer community to pinpoint challenges and convert insights into enhancements for the platform.
• Contribute to defining and delivering the roadmap and integration milestones with the SAP HANA/BDC platform.
• Bachelor's, Master's, or higher degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Over 5 years of experience in software engineering.
• At least 2 years of experience working with Java.
• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Helm, Terraform, or their equivalents.
• Extensive experience with a leading cloud platform: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Practical experience with OpenTelemetry or similar observability platforms.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, and HTTP.
• Eagerness to learn new technologies along with proven problem-solving skills.
• Bonus: experience in developing SaaS microservices and distributed systems.
• Bonus: hands-on experience with multi-threaded or asynchronous programming approaches.
• Bonus: proficiency in NoSQL databases like MongoDB, RocksDB, or Redis.
• Bonus: experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or ArgoCD.
• Bonus: knowledge of additional programming languages including C++, Go, Python, Node.js, or Rust.
• Bonus: experience in query processing, distributed systems, concurrency control, data replication, or storage systems.
• Bonus: skills in Java GC/heap tuning, Apache Arrow, SQL operators, or data-path optimization.
