Senior Software Engineer – Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead the design and deployment of managed Kubernetes infrastructure that supports all enterprise customer implementations.

• Take ownership of the systems that provision, organize, and manage cloud accounts and subscriptions across various providers.

• Architect and maintain the access management platform that ensures secure and auditable cluster access for operations teams.

• Design and implement the networking layer responsible for routing traffic into customer environments.

• Oversee the infrastructure lifecycle systems that provision, configure, and migrate Kubernetes environments.

• Define and document architectural patterns, technical decision-making frameworks, and engineering standards.

• Mentor P3/P4 engineers, aiding them in developing cross-cloud expertise and architectural instincts.

• Foster cross-functional alignment on significant technical decisions across Platform and Software Engineering.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of engineering experience with considerable expertise in cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and distributed systems.

• Hands-on experience with multiple major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) — including production-grade deployment and operational experience with at least two.

• Proven ability to make confident, impactful architectural decisions independently and take responsibility for the results.

• Experience in designing multi-tenant, multi-cloud infrastructure while maintaining a strong security and compliance posture.

• Demonstrated history of defining engineering standards and patterns that serve as a foundation for other engineers.

• Strong background in identity federation, access management, and secure cluster operations.

• Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code, GitOps, and modern platform engineering methodologies.

• Ability to lead through influence — effectively driving alignment across engineering teams without a direct reporting line.

• A proven track record of mentoring and elevating mid-level engineers.
