
Senior Software Engineer β Performance Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.
β’ Design, develop, and sustain performance testing coverage for both new and existing Genesys Cloud features and services.
β’ Enhance and create software, frameworks, and automation tools utilized for load generation, result analysis, and issue investigation.
β’ Collaborate with development teams to pinpoint essential user journeys, performance risks, limitations, and observability gaps early in the delivery process.
β’ Offer consultation to internal teams on instrumentation, monitoring, and alerting of microservices on AWS to boost reliability and performance.
β’ Analyze stability and scalability challenges using logs, metrics, traces, dashboards, and test artifacts to facilitate root-cause analysis.
β’ Contribute to shared performance engineering services and processes, proposing enhancements through code, architecture, or workflow modifications.
β’ Engage in code reviews and provide technical advice on performance-related design and implementation choices.
β’ Ensure the health of test environments through incident response, post-incident evaluations, and participation in on-call rotations as required.
β’ Work collaboratively across teams to ensure features are equipped to handle realistic and, at times, unexpected production-style usage patterns.
β’ Bachelorβs degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
β’ Demonstrated experience in designing, building, and maintaining software within a cloud-native environment.
β’ Experience in designing and executing performance, load, or scalability tests for distributed systems.
β’ Skilled at debugging intricate issues and conducting root cause analysis using observability tools and production telemetry.
β’ Familiarity with observability patterns, including metrics, traces, and logs.
β’ Proficient in one or more of the following programming languages: Python, TypeScript or JavaScript, C#, Java.
β’ Solid understanding of backend microservice development, encompassing REST APIs, asynchronous messaging (Kafka or similar), and data storage patterns like NoSQL.
β’ Practical experience with one or more cloud providers, including AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform.
β’ Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
