Senior Software Engineer – Mobile Platform

📋 Description

• Take charge of the release pipeline — develop and sustain the systems that transition code from merging to production in a reliable, repeatable manner with minimal manual intervention for both iOS and Android.

• Enhance our release automation — work towards achieving fully automated, push-button deployments and rollbacks with Slack-posted status updates as the standard approach.

• Fortify performance monitoring and observability — broaden instrumentation, establish alerting thresholds, create domain-level SLA dashboards, and ensure visibility across our React Native and Android platforms, including scenarios that operate offline.

• Boost CI/CD pipeline efficiency and dependability — decrease build times, enhance E2E test stability, integrate feature flag automation, and upgrade the testing infrastructure that engineers rely on daily.

• Expand observability knowledge throughout the team — develop dashboards, runbooks, and instrumentation patterns that every engineer can utilize and enhance, not just specialists.

• Maintain platform health — manage React Native and dependency updates, oversee certificate management, ensure compliance with Apple/Google store guidelines, and handle MDM tooling as the fleet expands.

• Utilize AI tools to create automations at scale across release and distribution workflows.

• Assist in building a strong team — conduct candidate interviews, refer exceptional engineers, and help shape the engineering culture.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in building and delivering production applications, including ownership of release processes from start to finish.

• Proficient experience with TypeScript.

• Background in developing and maintaining mobile applications in production settings where quality and uptime are critical — experience with React Native is highly beneficial; familiarity with managed device fleets, continuous hardware operation, or enterprise mobile deployments is a significant advantage.

• Proven experience in enhancing CI/CD pipelines and driving impactful release automation — a history of guiding teams towards more reliable and less manual delivery processes.

• Practical experience with observability tools — such as Datadog, OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, or similar. Experience in instrumenting mobile or edge environments requiring adaptation of standard tools is a strong plus.

• Demonstrated success in improving operational visibility — building dashboards, setting alerting thresholds, diagnosing production issues, and making monitoring accessible to the entire team.

• Ability to navigate complex external systems — including Apple/Google developer workflows, certificate management, provisioning, MDM platforms, store review processes, and compliance requirements.

• Experience in a product-focused startup, scale-up, or technology company.

• Strong sense of ownership, excellent communication skills, and a proactive mindset in identifying and resolving ambiguous, cross-functional challenges.
