Senior Software Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Create and refine the foundations of IAM for AI Agents, encompassing agent identity, permission guardrails, and enterprise-level audit systems.

• Develop and implement authentication and authorization systems that are dependable, adhere to standards, and perform well for millions of users worldwide.

• Suggest and execute technical solutions, guide system architecture, and ensure features are seamlessly integrated across the entire stack (frontend, backend, databases, APIs, AI agents).

• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, Compliance, and Product Engineering teams to address complex, cross-functional risk and governance issues.

• Mentor and grow engineers within the team through code reviews, design discussions, and career development initiatives.

• Foster a culture that promotes inclusivity, collaboration, and support, enabling all Samsara employees to grow and succeed.

• Advocate for, exemplify, and instill Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we expand globally and open new offices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in developing and managing production software utilizing contemporary engineering practices.

• Profound understanding of cloud security, IAM systems, threat models, and their mitigations.

• Strong foundational skills in programming with languages such as Java, Python, or Golang.

• Proven experience in designing and managing highly reliable, scalable distributed systems.

• History of building security-sensitive or identity-related systems in a production environment.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent professional experience.

• Excellent communication skills with the capacity to influence others without direct authority.
