Senior Software Engineer, Guest & Host

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of significant company-wide problem statements and lead essential projects.

• Oversee the scoping phase, define technical requirements, and implement new functionalities.

• Collaborate closely with other Engineering teams and cross-functional partners, including PM, Design, Data, and TPM.

• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance, promoting a culture of knowledge sharing and ongoing learning.

• Design and implement complex features, with an emphasis on data-driven decision-making and performance enhancements.

• Work together with other engineers and cross-functional partners across Booking & Pricing, as well as teams such as Listings and Users, to identify and prioritize technical requirements.

• Continuously expand knowledge of cutting-edge practices and trends related to workflow orchestration systems.

• Contribute to the definition and enhancement of coding standards, development processes, and best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a hands-on software engineering position, focusing on backend/full-stack development.

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s/PhD degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Significant experience with Java and/or Kotlin.

• A strong passion for efficiency, availability, technical quality, and system integrity.

• Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities, with a proven track record of working well within engineering organizations and across functions.

• Demonstrated expertise in backend systems within large-scale service-oriented architectures.

• Proven ability to drive alignment, manage projects, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.

• Experience mentoring junior developers.
