Senior Software Engineer, Golang, Backend

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Design, architect, develop, review, and test frameworks, libraries, tools, and services primarily utilizing Go.

• Engage in requirement gathering, design discussions, planning, and retrospective meetings as a vital member of an Agile software development team.

• Contribute to successful sprints by implementing tasks that align with overall team objectives.

• Serve as a subject matter expert and advocate within the company and the wider community.

• Actively maintain Mirantis projects by overseeing contributions and patches to open-source initiatives, reviewing submissions, and participating in design decisions.

• Join in product discussions, influence the product roadmap, and take ownership of new projects to ensure their successful execution.

• Provide technical guidance to external partners and in-house engineering teams, offering support through knowledge sharing and/or development efforts.

• Contribute to testing efforts through automation and test plan reviews to prevent bugs from entering the product and eliminate regressions, ensuring high quality in every build.

• Ensure that MSR remains an essential and superior component of diverse customer solutions, integrating seamlessly with existing systems including popular orchestrators and other industry-standard components.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree, or equivalent experience in computer science or a related field.

• Proficiency in debugging, particularly in multi-process, orchestrated, distributed systems.

• Knowledge of creating and utilizing containerization, Kubernetes, and Registries (preferably Harbor).

• Over 5 years of development experience in a Linux or other Unix-like environment.

• At least 3 years of experience with the Go programming language or another modern programming language capable of building production applications.

• Contributions to open-source Kubernetes or Go tooling projects.

• Relevant certifications such as CKA, CKAD, or DCA.

• Experience with additional programming languages: Shell scripting and Python.

• Familiarity with container registries (Harbor/MSR), OCI specifications, Docker, and/or Swarm.
