Senior Software Engineer, Data

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and manage data services and APIs utilized by application teams.

• Collaborate with Data Platform engineers to convert event streams and pipelines into interfaces suitable for applications.

• Take ownership of the technical design for significant features, encompassing API structure, data agreements, versioning, and backward compatibility.

• Develop using Python and SQL within event-driven architectures.

• Work together with application teams to establish integration patterns and service expectations.

• Enhance observability, accuracy, and operational maturity of data products.

• Improve platform performance and optimize cloud cost efficiency.

• Partner with the Data Platform team regarding pipeline agreements and data availability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in creating production software systems, preferably including data services or platform APIs.

• Proficient in Python — capable of producing production-grade, testable, and maintainable code.

• Strong SQL expertise and ability to work with large analytical datasets.

• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and streaming systems (e.g., Kafka, Flink, or similar).

• Experience in designing and managing REST APIs consumed by application teams.

• Comfortable taking technical ownership — leading design decisions rather than merely implementing them.

• Knowledge of AI-augmented development tools (e.g., Claude, Codex) as part of a contemporary engineering workflow.

• Preferred Experience

• Experience with Snowflake or comparable cloud data warehouses.

• Background in data modeling for analytical or operational applications.

• Basic knowledge of ML engineering — feature pipelines and model-adjacent data services.
