This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Develop and sustain Next.js micro-frontend applications orchestrated through Module Federation, which supports Paramount+ and Pluto.tv Web applications.
• Create and advance a GraphQL API layer (Apollo Server) utilized by various federated frontends.
• Contribute to shared packages within a monorepo environment.
• Exhibit exceptional communication skills to lead all phases of the web platform development lifecycle, while collaborating with other teams to create features.
• Monitor and enhance application performance and observability.
• Collaborate, document, and mentor colleagues respectfully, ensuring that established architectural patterns are implemented throughout the codebase.
• Work alongside our frontend, backend engineering, and DevOps/SRE teams to develop and deploy high-performing services.
• Foster a culture of sharing architectural standards among frontend teams.
• Manage and refine application dependencies.
• Continuously improve our CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, optimizing processes and testing.
• Conduct experiments and analyze outcomes.
• Over 5 years of experience in web application development.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Profound understanding of web application development and industry best practices.
• In-depth knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming and Design, as well as data structures and algorithms.
• Experience in developing responsive websites.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, CSS, Sass, and HTML.
• Strong experience in building applications with React (preferably with SSR).
• Familiarity with Next.js or comparable frameworks.
• Solid understanding of GraphQL, including schema design, resolvers, and federation.
• Experience with monorepo tooling (like pnpm workspaces, Turborepo, or similar).
• Strong testing practices using Jest and Cypress.
• Good understanding of the HTTP protocol and caching mechanisms.
• Solid knowledge of HTML DOM and Event APIs.
• Comprehensive understanding of web ecosystem tools such as Webpack and Git.
• Proven ability to articulate architectural design concepts clearly, whether in writing, during design reviews, or in real-time discussions with engineers at all levels.
