Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Assist in the infrastructure utilized by development teams to manage and operate their services at Mozilla.

• Steer technical decision-making and the implementation of user-focused solutions.

• Develop Claude skills and design autonomous workflows that enhance developer productivity.

• Mentor team members and advocate for engineering best practices, emphasizing usability and maintainability.

• Promote cross-functional collaboration to ensure efficient and unified platform delivery.

• Draft proposals and decision briefs for new policies, processes, and platform capabilities.

• Introduce new features to the platform that offer significant value.

• Be relied upon to tackle ambiguous yet urgent tasks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in software engineering with proficiency in at least one area (Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, SRE, DevOps).

• Demonstrated experience in technical leadership.

• Proficiency in several of the following technologies (ArgoCD, Grafana, K8s, GitHub, Terraform, Helm, Backstage, Cloud Cost Optimization).

• Skilled in Python, JavaScript, or Go.

• Strong expertise in cloud-native technologies (GCP preferred; AWS is also acceptable).

• Exceptional communication skills that align technology with user requirements and organizational objectives.

• A self-motivated individual who excels in uncertain situations.
