This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Enhance and advance our existing Go-based health care platforms.
• Create and implement services and components using Go for cloud-based environments.
• Develop high-volume, low-latency services for a global health care platform.
• Work alongside internal and external partners to create and integrate APIs that enable users to share and utilize their medical data within partner systems.
• Design and build unit testable code that is easily maintainable.
• Collaborate directly with the InfoSec team to design and implement secure solutions.
• Partner with both internal and external team members to shape and define API contracts.
• Bring fresh ideas and insights in collaboration with the data services team.
• Ensure performance, uptime, and scalability while maintaining high standards of code quality and thoughtful design.
• Participate in significant architectural and operational decision-making alongside the Architecture team.
• Develop internal tools and APIs to streamline business and engineering processes, making them easier, faster, and safer.
• Execute systemic changes to align existing systems with current architectural objectives.
• Produce diagrams, flowcharts, and models that depict the internal design and workflow of solution components.
• Actively engage as a member of an agile team, executing features through development, testing, and delivery.
• Participate in technical planning, design, and code reviews, including peer code reviews of Pull Requests.
• Stay updated with emerging trends and provide recommendations to facilitate organizational innovation.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering Mathematics, or a related field.
• At least 6 years of professional software development experience in an Agile setting, which includes time spent in technical residency programs, or a master's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Familiarity with database technologies and data design such as SQL Server, Postgres, or similar.
• Software development experience using Go.
• Strong understanding of idiomatic Go and best practices.
• Good knowledge of concurrency in Go, including goroutines, channel patterns, the Go ecosystem, and associated tools and frameworks.
• Experience in contributing to scalable architecture/design for both existing and new systems that are highly available and easy to maintain and monitor.
• Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex asynchronous messaging and backend processing jobs.
• Practical experience and understanding of working with and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Ability to work effectively within a team in a high-performance organization.
• Comfortable collaborating asynchronously with a distributed team.
• Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and listening abilities.
• Willingness to learn new software development languages to achieve goals and objectives.
• Strong foundational knowledge of Computer Science and experience in software development.
