Senior Software Engineer – Clearing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North America.

• Collaborate within a team that emphasizes quality thinking, exceptional execution, practical solutions, and accountability.

• Take ownership of projects from concept to implementation, creating what is necessary rather than merely fulfilling requests.

• Design and develop new systems to enable innovative products or generate additional revenue.

• Enhance existing systems to achieve significant improvements.

• Acquire knowledge on critical aspects of maintaining healthy financial markets.

• Gain insights into the development of Alpaca and influence our operational practices.

• Engage in an on-call rotation to ensure optimal performance of systems.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of hands-on experience in creating reliable and distributed systems.

• Solid foundational understanding of computer operations, internet functionality, database management, and the behavior of distributed systems.

• Proficient in the following technologies: Go, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes.

• Skilled in designing effective (RESTful) APIs and identifying subpar ones.

• Strong interest in the workings of traditional financial markets.

• Detail-oriented with the capability to collaborate effectively.

• Willing to assertively express dissent in a constructive manner.

• Capable of leading a project and willing to get hands-on when necessary.

• Familiarity with securities clearing & settlement and securities finance is a plus.

• Experience with gRPC, Protobuf, Temporal, Grafana, Kafka/Redpanda, Helm, and Docker is advantageous.
