Senior Software Engineer, Backend – Continuous Delivery

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Accountable for achieving and delivering quarterly objectives for the team, guiding engineers through uncertainty to resolve open-ended challenges, and ensuring comprehensive support during the delivery process.

• Assist colleagues and stakeholders throughout the product development cycle by collaborating with product management, design, and analytics, engaged in ideation, articulating technical limitations, and partnering on decisions that adequately weigh risks and trade-offs.

• Proactively recognize project, process, technology, or business challenges, advocate for their resolution, and take the lead in addressing them.

• Ensure the operational efficacy and accessibility of the team’s artifacts by establishing and monitoring metrics, escalating issues when necessary, and supporting “keep the lights on” and on-call initiatives.

• Cultivate a culture of quality and accountability within the team by establishing or enhancing code review and design standards, and promoting these beyond the team through documentation and technical presentations.

• Contribute to the growth of team members by offering constructive feedback and guidance, and exemplifying best practices through your own work.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale utilizing programming languages such as Python or Kotlin.

• Proven history of creating highly available distributed systems using technologies like AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.

• Experience in building or enhancing CI/CD, deployment, or release automation systems that minimize manual effort and enhance rollout predictability, recovery, and auditability across multiple engineering teams.

• Comfortable working on shared developer infrastructure and defining clear platform interfaces, templates, or guidelines that facilitate product teams in confidently adopting standard deployment patterns.

• Demonstrated experience in formulating a technical strategy for delivering a significant feature or system component with an elegant, simple, and extensible design. Capable of writing high-quality code that is easily understood and utilized by others.

• Skilled in implementing substantial changes within a large codebase, having developed a suite of tools and practices that empower you and your team to execute changes safely.

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities that facilitate effective collaboration with our global engineering team.

• This role requires either equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
