Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain robust machine learning systems utilizing Python (Pandas/NumPy, PyTorch/transformers) to enhance efficient machine learning operations.

• Architect machine learning cloud infrastructure employing AWS services, ensuring the platform is designed for reusability, scalability, and high-throughput performance.

• Collaborate with application engineers to seamlessly integrate, test, and monitor machine learning model services throughout SurveyMonkey's microservices architecture.

• Function as a consultant for internal feature teams, providing education and influencing decisions regarding machine learning tools and infrastructure.

• Implement telemetry within the platform for intricate failure mode analysis, guaranteeing real-time reliability for millions of daily survey responses.

• Act as a technical leader and mentor, promoting high standards in coding, documentation, and architectural best practices to support the professional development of junior engineers on the MLP team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of professional experience in machine learning development with a demonstrated history of designing and deploying machine learning infrastructure in AWS.

• Proficient understanding of machine learning concepts (supervised/unsupervised learning) along with a deep knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs) and Natural Language Processing (NLP).

• Advanced Python skills and experience in high-scale data processing (PySpark, etc.).

• Familiarity with Unix/Linux systems and adept in deploying end-to-end solutions for real-time applications (spam detection, personalization, ranking).

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.
