Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Develop and launch new features across the Privacy.com product range, engaging with both frontend and backend systems.

• Effectively utilize AI coding tools (such as Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, etc.) throughout the entire development lifecycle and assist in establishing best practices for the team.

• Collaborate with product and design teams to convert requirements into technical solutions that enhance the customer experience.

• Critically assess user flows, edge cases, and the implications of technical decisions on the user experience, especially in areas where AI-generated code requires human oversight (such as security, payment accuracy, and edge cases).

• Produce clean, maintainable code accompanied by thorough tests and documentation.

• Engage in code reviews and pair programming to uphold quality standards, share knowledge, and elevate the team's use of AI.

• Troubleshoot production issues and enhance system reliability and performance.

• Contribute to engineering best practices and aid in scaling our systems as the company expands.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3-6 years of professional experience in software development.

• Proven experience using AI coding assistants (such as Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar) in production settings—capable of discussing their advantages, limitations, and methods for validating their outputs.

• Strong expertise in TypeScript/JavaScript with a solid background in Node.js development.

• Experience with contemporary frontend frameworks, preferably Vue.js.

• Familiarity with document-based databases (like MongoDB, DocumentDB).

• A customer-focused mindset with empathy for end users and a keen eye for UX details.

• A history of delivering 0→1 projects or significant side projects.

• Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and discernment regarding when to act quickly versus when to exercise caution.

• Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities across teams (including designers, PMs, and operations).
