Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of features from start to finish: including framing, design, construction, testing, deployment, and production operations.

• Develop and enhance APIs, backend services, and internal platforms.

• Construct and maintain integrations with third-party systems.

• Design web applications and workflow tools that are robust in production environments.

• Diagnose complex issues throughout the full stack, particularly those that cross service boundaries.

• Anticipate potential failure modes and design for clarity, testability, and reversibility.

• Enhance our development infrastructure: focusing on CI/CD, environment management, and observability.

• Elevate quality through code reviews, design contributions, and the standards set by your own work.

• Convert technical realities into actionable language for product teams and leadership.

• Engage in on-call rotation and take responsibility for the production health of your deliveries.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in software development, managing ambiguous challenges and delivering sustainable solutions.

• Extensive experience in creating production APIs and integrating with external systems.

• Profound expertise in at least one of the following languages: C#, Go, or TypeScript.

• Have developed and deployed production code in at least one additional language, preferably another from our technology stack.

• Proficient in React or a similar modern frontend framework.

• Familiarity with cloud services and contemporary cloud development practices (Azure preferred).

• Strong understanding of SQL databases and caching technologies (Redis preferred).

• You possess a keen intuition for what not to build and make informed decisions when priorities conflict.

• Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis.
