Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain data-centric web applications utilized across statewide contracts.

• Create backend services in Java, emphasizing well-structured and thoroughly documented APIs.

• Construct modern, responsive user interfaces employing Vue.js.

• Engage with large datasets, concentrating on performance, scalability, and reliability.

• Collaborate closely with product managers, QA teams, and fellow engineers to deliver high-quality features.

• Write and sustain automated tests, including unit, integration, and API tests.

• Participate in performance testing, profiling, and tuning, or develop these skills with guidance.

• Review code, engage in design discussions, and continuously enhance engineering practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Approximately 2+ years of professional software development experience or equivalent hands-on experience.

• Strong practical knowledge of:

• - Java (backend services, APIs)

• - AWS Services

• - Vue.js (or a similar modern frontend framework, with a willingness to learn Vue)

• A clear understanding of API-first design and service-oriented architectures.

• A quality-oriented mindset: you value testing, code clarity, and maintainability.

• Exposure to or a strong aptitude for:

• - Performance testing

• - Load testing

• - Identifying bottlenecks in data-intensive systems.

• Curiosity, motivation, and a strong desire to learn, particularly in large-scale, real-world systems.
