Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Accountable for the design, development, and testing of software intended for external-facing products.

• Collaborate with the team lead to create suitable UI, architectural frameworks, database structures, and instrumentation controls for the company’s software offerings.

• Model behaviors, object hierarchies, and the architecture of databases.

• Execute unit testing, verification, and debugging of systems, addressing any issues and providing suitable solutions.

• As necessary, participate in and present during peer reviews of code and designs.

• Tasked with enhancing existing systems to accommodate new capabilities.

• As required, develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs).

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is mandatory.

• At least three years of experience in a software engineering environment is preferred.

• Experience in leading development sprints within an Agile framework is preferred.

• Comprehensive understanding of best practices and processes associated with the software development life cycle.

• Proficient in Java, along with relational databases and web technologies.

• Solid understanding of build tools, automated build systems, and installation software is preferred.

• Experience in development and operations within a cloud environment, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, is preferred.

• Strong logical problem-solving skills and a proven ability to comprehend large codebases and identify areas for enhancement and extension as needed.

• Exceptional organizational, planning, and time management abilities, with the capacity to work autonomously and continue learning; capable of taking and providing direction in a senior role within a team.

• Outstanding oral and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration within the team and across all levels of the organization.
