Senior Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Take the lead in designing, developing, and deploying significant features across Cambium's platform, which includes data infrastructure, internal tools, and client-facing interfaces.

• Integrate AI coding agents such as Claude Code into your workflow as a fundamental component rather than a sporadic aid.

• Produce clean, maintainable, and high-performance code with a strong focus on security and dependability.

• Collaborate with our Staff Engineer and leadership to define Cambium's architecture and technical roadmap.

• Prioritize the resolution of technical debt and address cross-cutting issues.

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Product, Supply, Sales, and external partners.

• Guide teammates and foster a culture of learning through code reviews, design evaluations, and postmortems.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8–10+ years of professional experience in software development, preferably in startup or early-stage environments.

• Strong experience in backend engineering focused on designing secure, maintainable, and production-ready systems.

• Practical experience in shipping production code utilizing AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Codex).

• Frontend expertise with React and modern TypeScript; the ability to lead frontend architecture and implementation is highly advantageous.

• Proven track record of independently leading projects and influencing architectural and roadmap discussions with a pragmatic, systems-thinking perspective.

• Excellent communication skills that cater to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Familiarity with (or a keen interest in) Cambium's technology stack: Python, Postgres, TypeScript, React, AWS.

• Bonus: Experience in supply chain/logistics, geospatial data, ERP/CRM, or sustainability-focused technology.
