Senior Software Engineer – Application Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Enhance the security of applications utilized for Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage and Computer Backup.

• Integrate security measures into product usage, data storage, and customer interactions.

• Utilize AI tools and software for developing new and maintaining existing software security functionalities.

• Conduct security assessments and code reviews on both internal and external customer-facing applications.

• Collaborate closely with engineers to address security vulnerabilities using AI tools.

• Create security automation and tools to bolster overall security.

• Assist in the bug bounty program and manage vulnerability responses.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in Application Development and Security.

• Experience with AI and its application in development and security contexts.

• Knowledge of AI frameworks and tools, fundamental web security principles, common web security vulnerabilities, and coding agents.

• In-depth understanding of OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities.

• Familiarity with security testing tools including:

• SAST / DAST scanners.

• Fuzzing tools.

• Vulnerability scanners.

• Knowledge of web technologies such as HTTP, REST APIs, etc.

• Experience with Web Applications, Cloud Systems, and Linux Environments.

• Ability to identify how both new and legacy security requirements can leverage AI workflows and integrations for enhancement.

• Familiarity with AI coding tools like Gemini, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Cursor, or similar.

• Proficiency in programming languages including Java, JSP, JavaScript, TypeScript, Go, Python, and C/C++.
