This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latvia.
• Assess the existing QA/SDET landscape among teams and formalize a comprehensive testing framework.
• Determine which QA and SDET initiatives should be prioritized based on system complexity and associated risks.
• Identify coverage gaps, including absent end-to-end tests.
• Lead teams through the discovery process and decision-making regarding testing strategies and tools.
• Establish and implement a thorough testing strategy, utilizing a profound understanding of the Test Pyramid.
• Act as a technical leader in testing by fostering innovation through research, prototyping, and AI-enhanced testing methodologies.
• Engage directly with Playwright, contributing to production-level automation code.
• Develop and maintain testing documentation, including test cases, scripts, and reports.
• Create and uphold test automation frameworks adhering to SOLID principles and clean code standards.
• Operate in an Agile environment, closely collaborating with engineering teams.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Monitor and analyze test outcomes, providing actionable insights.
• Conduct exploratory testing and assist in root cause analysis for intricate issues.
• Support all Agile scrum team activities, including story refinement and testing.
• Extensive experience as a Software Engineer, SDET, or Test Automation Engineer.
• Demonstrated experience in designing testing strategies for complex, enterprise-scale systems.
• Significant hands-on experience with Playwright (mandatory).
• Strong engineering background with OOP languages such as Java or C#.
• Proficient scripting experience (Python, JavaScript, etc.).
• Familiarity with API testing, database testing, and distributed systems.
• In-depth understanding of Agile Testing Quadrants, BDD, ATDD/TDD.
• Excellent communication skills and a high level of assertiveness.
• Experience in large organizations with complex systems.
• Experience integrating AI into testing workflows is highly preferred.
