Senior Software Development Engineer in Test – SSDET

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the team to determine test scenarios, acceptance criteria, and performance benchmarks based on both functional and non-functional requirements.

• Provide guidance to the team in establishing and executing a comprehensive testing strategy, utilizing a thorough understanding of the Test Pyramid.

• Act as a technical testing leader by fostering innovation within the team through research, prototyping, and the advancement of new testing methodologies.

• Develop and maintain test documentation, including test cases, scripts, and reports.

• Assist the team in creating and sustaining the test automation suite with production-quality code that complies with SOLID principles and clean-code standards.

• Possess experience in batch testing and big data testing.

• Operate within an agile development environment, working collaboratively with the team to iteratively deliver quality software.

• Design end-to-end software test frameworks, test suites, and tools to validate product-specific features and use cases.

• Monitor and assess test results, providing feedback to the development team for swift iteration and enhancement.

• Conduct innovative exploratory testing of new features and products.

• Integrate automated tests into our continuous delivery pipeline.

• Execute automated tests to verify software functionality, performance, and scalability.

• Identify, triage, and document software defects using bug tracking systems (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla) and collaborate with the development team to prioritize and resolve issues.

• Perform root cause analysis and contribute to solving complex technical challenges.

• Locate, isolate, document, regress, and monitor bugs until resolution.

• Willingness to assist with all tasks within an Agile Scrum team, including writing stories, development, and manual testing.

• Knowledge of Agile Testing Quadrants, Behavior Driven Development, and ATDD/TDD.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience as a Software Engineer, Software Engineer in Test, Test Automation Engineer, or similar roles with a strong testing mindset.

• Significant experience in developing test frameworks using open-source automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, or Cucumber.

• Proficient in writing automation scripts using at least one Object-Oriented Programming Language such as C# or Java.

• Strong experience with a scripting language such as Python, PowerShell, Perl, or JavaScript.

• Solid experience in database testing techniques using Sybase, SQL Server, or Oracle, with a comprehensive understanding of database schemas.

• Familiarity with working alongside performance engineers or using performance tools such as BlazeMeter, JMeter, and/or Taurus.

• Experience testing API frameworks.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Experience in a dynamic Agile or SCRUM development environment.

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (preferred).
