This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Take ownership of the architecture. Design, construct, and enhance the systems that support our advertising stack.
• Establish technical direction. Influence critical decisions regarding the construction and scalability of our advertising systems.
• Resolve complex challenges. Lead the effort to address the most intricate issues, such as real-time bidding bottlenecks, data synchronization failures, and broken platform integrations.
• Collaborate with product teams. Work directly with advertising product owners to influence development priorities.
• Set the benchmark. Mentor developers and define the standards for excellence in development practices.
• Provide strategic advice to leadership. Collaborate with our leadership team on long-term technical strategies and the privacy and data-handling frameworks that guide our operations.
• Extensive, hands-on experience in the advertising field — including OpenRTB and Pre-bid, server-side and header bidding, bidstream enrichment (identity, audience, content, and supply-chain signals), ad decisioning, SSP/DSP partnerships, and video/CTV delivery including server-side ad insertion.
• Strong fundamentals in programming and architecture that apply across various technology stacks.
• Proven experience in building data pipelines and real-time systems at scale, with a deep understanding of the latency and throughput trade-offs associated with handling billions of requests daily.
• Ability to evaluate and simplify unfamiliar architectures by identifying systemic weaknesses.
• Proactive in anticipating significant technical and regulatory changes, incorporating them into architectural decisions from the outset.
