Senior Site Reliability Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Macedonia.

📋 Description

• As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), act as a link between software development and operations.

• Facilitate the delivery of reliable performance to clients, enabling seamless deployment without sacrificing customer experience.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams within a DevOps framework.

• Establish SLIs and SLOs in conjunction with teams.

• Develop systems to enhance observability.

• Evaluate failure scenarios and potential mitigations.

• Aid in the formulation of runbooks for failure situations.

• Minimize non-value-adding tasks.

• Engage in incident management, including on-call responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering, DevOps engineering, QA engineering, and/or cloud engineering.

• At least 2 years of experience specifically as a Site Reliability Engineer.

• Strong assertiveness paired with excellent communication skills.

• Proven experience in incident management within a production environment for a public-facing online service.

• Background in corporate environments.

• Proficiency in programming and scripting.

• Fundamental understanding of serverless services in one or more public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Extensive experience with various monitoring systems (Datadog, New Relic, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana).

• Familiarity with pipelining tools (GitHub, Azure DevOps, GitLab, Jenkins).

• Understanding of microservices-related technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Strong conceptual grasp of software architecture and systems thinking.

• Experience as an engineer in a DevOps setting.

• Proficient in English (C1 level or above).

• Knowledge of technologies such as Datadog, Argo CI/CD, Java/Springboot, Kafka, Kubernetes/EKS, AWS.

• Experience with eCommerce platforms.

• Exposure to international contexts with both on- and off-shore teams.
