Senior Security Researcher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Create and investigate innovative techniques for data gathering and the application of that data to introduce new product features or enhance existing ones.

• Carry out data analysis on datasets derived both internally and externally to evaluate data quality and perform feasibility studies on inference techniques related to security properties.

• Generate ideas for new product features and improvements grounded in the latest trends and capabilities in security.

• Offer expertise in security to impact security ratings methodologies and policies.

• Work alongside product and engineering teams to establish new specifications for data processing.

• Partner with the Data Partnerships team to sustain relationships with partners, acting as a technical liaison for external collaborators.

• Execute research, writing, and presentations to support marketing initiatives and customer interactions, highlighting key findings and capabilities while clarifying data and ratings concepts.

• Strong technical foundation with knowledge in networking concepts, information security, and cryptography.

• Proficient in standard scripting languages, capable of developing prototypes for data collection, analysis, and processing.

• Self-motivated and capable of working independently on projects, or collaboratively as part of a team.

• Excellent communication and analytical abilities, including the skill to identify and resolve ambiguous problems.

• Competent in conducting statistical experiments and testing hypotheses.

• Demonstrated success in security data analysis and presentation.

• Keen interest in acquiring knowledge of distributed computing technologies such as PySpark/EMR/Hadoop.

• B.S./M.S. in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
