Senior Security Operations Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, and enhance Data Loss Prevention (DLP) measures across corporate and cloud settings.

• Lead the hands-on deployment and fine-tuning of endpoint, network, SaaS, and cloud DLP controls.

• Investigate, contain, resolve, and conduct root cause analysis for incidents of suspected data exfiltration and improper data handling.

• Oversee the operational lifecycle of the DLP stack, which includes policies, rules, classifications, and continuous adjustments.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure business-safe controls align with security, usability, regulatory, and client demands.

• Develop and enhance automated response playbooks and workflows to enrich, triage, and address alerts.

• Actively seek out unusual data movement across atypical destinations, channels, or volumes.

• Establish and monitor DLP metrics, including coverage, detection quality, MTTD/MTTR, and the rate of false positives.

• Report progress to security leadership and cross-functional partners.

• Contribute to incident response and vulnerability management where they intersect with data protection.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5+ years of hands-on experience in security operations, incident response, or security engineering, with a strong focus on data protection and DLP.

• Direct experience in deploying, tuning, and managing DLP tools across endpoint, network, SaaS, and/or cloud environments.

• Practical experience with Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) or comparable SaaS security controls.

• Familiarity with integrating DLP signals into SIEM/SOAR workflows, such as CrowdStrike, Splunk, or Sentinel.

• Advanced scripting and automation capabilities using Python, PowerShell, KQL, and/or SQL.

• Experience in designing and maintaining data classification and policy frameworks for PHI, PII, PCI, and other sensitive data types.
