Senior Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Design and execute security measures for mobile applications, backend services, and web platforms.

• Perform threat modeling and risk assessments for both new and existing systems.

• Integrate secure coding practices across engineering teams in accordance with OWASP standards.

• Collaborate with engineers to embed security throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

• Identify and address application vulnerabilities and security threats.

• Participate in the implementation and enhancement of DevSecOps methodologies.

• Offer guidance on secure architecture and software design principles.

• Assist in the creation and enforcement of security policies, controls, and engineering standards.

• Enhance the organization’s application security posture through proactive reviews and testing.

• Work alongside teams to ensure compliance with internal security standards and external regulatory requirements.

• Provide security expertise for infrastructure components, including containerized and cloud-native environments.

• Contribute to processes for incident response and vulnerability management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in security engineering or application security.

• More than 3 years of experience in Application Security (AppSec).

• At least 3 years of experience in conducting threat modeling and risk assessments.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience applying secure coding principles aligned with OWASP standards.

• Strong knowledge of application security vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies.

• Demonstrated experience collaborating with engineering teams to create secure-by-design applications.

• 2–3 years of experience implementing DevSecOps practices.

• 2–3 years of experience securing containerized environments such as Docker or Kubernetes.

• Over 2 years of experience applying cryptography and encryption techniques in application security.
