Senior Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Oversee the information security program for NEAR Foundation.

• Propel SOC II Type 2 and ISO 27001 readiness along with ongoing compliance at NEAR AI.

• Assist with the operations and requirements of the NEAR Security Committee (NSC).

• Manage logging, monitoring, and alerting; spearhead investigations and responses to security incidents.

• Conduct vulnerability management, third-party risk assessments, and promote security awareness within the organization.

• Take ownership of the security architecture and the strengthening of our identity, access, and endpoint systems.

• Develop security and compliance automation throughout our SaaS ecosystem.

• Serve as the senior technical escalation point for intricate security challenges.

• Lead the implementation of security tools and the selection of security vendors.

• Assist in sustaining a secure cloud environment (AWS / GCP) and maintaining the security policy library.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in information security with a robust IT engineering background.

• Proven track record of managing SOC II Type 2 and preferably ISO 27001 readiness and audit processes.

• Extensive hands-on experience with IAM, endpoint security, and at least one cloud platform (AWS or GCP).

• Proficient in scripting (Python, Go, or Bash) and automating IT and security processes.

• Practical knowledge of SSO/IdP solutions (Okta, Google Workspace, Entra), MDM/EDR tools, and modern logging/SIEM frameworks.

• Excellent written communication skills — producing clear policies, thorough post-incident reviews, and credible audit narratives.

• Practical approach to risk and procedures; composed under pressure; action-oriented mindset.

• Experience with crypto or AI/ML is an advantage.
