
Senior Sales Manager, Aftermarket – Outside Sales

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.
• Take charge of new business development for aftermarket parts and services within a designated territory.
• Identify prospects, make cold calls, and travel to engage target railroad, contractor, and industrial accounts.
• Develop and oversee a sales pipeline along with a territory strategy.
• Achieve or surpass established sales quotas and commission-driven revenue goals.
• Conduct customer visits, site assessments, and presentations.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts adhering to established guidelines.
• Transform prospects and dormant or competitor-held accounts into active customers.
• Collaborate with inside sales, customer service, and operations teams for effective post-sale handover and fulfillment.
• Keep opportunity, activity, and pipeline data up-to-date in the CRM system.
• Monitor competitive activities, market trends, pricing strategies, and customer plans.
• Represent Harsco Rail at trade shows, conferences, and customer engagement events.
• Provide forecasts, pipeline assessments, and territory updates to the Director of Aftermarket Sales.
• Enhance the aftermarket sales process and share market intelligence with internal teams.
• Perform additional related tasks as assigned.
• A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field, or a comparable combination of education and relevant sales experience.
• A minimum of 3 years of outside, quota-carrying, new business development ('hunter') sales experience.
• Experience in the railroad, rail transit, or industrial capital equipment/aftermarket sector is highly preferred.
• Proven track record of independently prospecting, negotiating, and securing new business.
• Familiarity with market pricing, competitive dynamics, and the rail/industrial aftermarket landscape is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems, such as Salesforce.
• Exceptional prospecting, negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.
• Excellent communication abilities and aptitude for relationship-building.
• Willingness and capability to travel extensively within the assigned territory, typically 50% or more, including overnight travel.
• Self-driven and comfortable working independently with variable, commission-based compensation.
• A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
• Commission-based incentive structure directly linked to new and incremental sales generated.
