This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.
• Take charge of new business growth for aftermarket parts and services within a designated region.
• Conduct prospecting, cold-calling, and travel to target clients, including railroads, contractors, and industrial customers.
• Create and oversee a sales pipeline and territorial strategy.
• Achieve or surpass specified sales quotas and revenue targets based on commissions.
• Perform customer visits, site assessments, and presentations to identify client needs and secure deals.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts in accordance with established parameters.
• Formulate account penetration strategies to transform prospects and dormant or competitor-held accounts into active customers.
• Collaborate with inside sales, customer service, and operations teams for seamless order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain up-to-date opportunity, activity, and pipeline information in the CRM system.
• Keep track of competitive actions, market trends, pricing, and customer capital/maintenance plans.
• Represent Harsco Rail at trade shows, conferences, and customer engagements.
• Provide sales forecasts, pipeline assessments, and territory updates to the Director of Aftermarket Sales.
• Enhance the aftermarket sales process and communicate market insights with product, marketing, and operations teams.
• Undertake additional related responsibilities as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant sales experience.
• Over 3 years of outside sales experience focused on new business development, preferably with a quota.
• Strong preference for candidates with experience in railroad, rail transit, or industrial capital equipment/aftermarket sectors.
• Proven ability to independently prospect, negotiate, and close new business deals.
• Familiarity with market pricing, competitive dynamics, and the rail/industrial aftermarket landscape is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce or similar platforms).
• Strong skills in prospecting, negotiation, presentation, and closing.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory, generally 50% or more, including overnight trips.
• Self-driven, competitive, and comfortable working independently with a variable, commission-based compensation structure.
• Possession of a valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record.
